The Project
Feelings Club is a rebellious little drama-comedy short-form web series set in the most intense school in Aotearoa ... where a secret student support group becomes the only place to be real.
We’re raising funds to make Season One and drop it straight to TikTok, Instagram and YouTube, also using this as a chance to show funders and studios the potential this show has to offer!
This isn’t just a series. It’s a movement about feeling more, not less - and reminding young people that being yourself is brave as hell.
(By the way, every donation, even small, we'll give you first access to Eps 1 & 2!!)
The Team
THE CREW:
Hey there, its me Taylor Nixon, in writing. As you may or may not know, I'm a filmmaker from Aotearoa and the creator of Feelings Club. My work explores identity, emotion, and challenging systems through character-driven stories that blend heart, humour, and honesty. I've spent over six years in the industry crafting commercials, music videos, and narrative work - now I'm taking the leap to something bigger.
Our team includes fantastic talent such as Liv Parker (Educators), Lauren O'Hara (Heart Eyes) and Tioreore Ngatai-Melbourne (Hunt for the Wilderpeople, Cousins), talented DOP Michael Lahood, experienced Editor Ashneil Dutt, and many more talented cast and crew to be announced! (very soon!!)
We’ve built a community of indie creatives who believe in this project - and with your support, we’re ready to bring it to life.
The Funding
We’re raising $30K to shoot, edit, and release Feelings Club.
Here’s where the money goes:
- 70% – Production: Cast, crew, gear, and locations
- 10% – Post: Editing, sound, music
- 20% – Marketing: Reaching the right audience online
That gets it made at its base level. But if we hit $50K, everything levels up:
- More episodes (up to 22)
- More time and quality on set
- Better post-production and music
- Proper reach — ads, collabs, live events
- More support for emerging cast and crew
With $30K, we can make it. With $50K, we can make it massive.
On top of the donations, Taylor will personally be investing in this series, to make it the best it can be!
The Details
Toby is the kind-hearted new kid at the harshest school in Aotearoa - where “feelings” are basically a punishable offence. But when he teams up with rogue art teacher Ms. Evans, they start a secret support group hidden inside a dusty old storage room.
Suddenly, it’s the only place where students can talk about what’s actually going on. And the people who show up? The golden boy. The invisible girl. Even the most popular kid in school.
It’s funny, heartbreaking, messy - and sometimes awkward as hell.
But it’s real. And that’s what makes it powerful.
The Impact
This isn’t just another web series. Feelings Club is a message that feelings are for feeling, not hiding.
Young people are under pressure like never before - and the dominant narrative still tells them to toughen up.
We’re flipping that on its head, and pulling the community together to make it happen.
OUR SUPPORTERS (so far!)
The series has already built a strong community and sparked interest all around!
The School Uniform Co. have kindly gifted a wide range of uniforms to dress our cast! Ross and the team are fantastic, and I highly recommend checking them out for your next shoot (or school needs!)
Mental health organisations like Voice of Hope and the Ministry of Health NZ, have showed their support and love for this kaupapa too!
All we need now is ... You!
With your support, Feelings Club can become something much bigger: a beacon for anyone who’s ever felt too much in a world that says “shut it down.”
Backing this project means backing emotional honesty, creative independence, and a new kind of storytelling that meets its audience where they are.
Together, let’s make Feelings Club happen.
