Dancing all the way to the World Latin Dance Cup 2016

Vuelta Dance, an innovative, collaborative team of salsa dancers will take their passion and pastime to the next level, representing New Zealand at a world competition this year!

We are the current NZ Salsa Open champions, and recently qualified to go directly to the semi-finals of the World Latin Dance Cup in Miami. This is the first year that a ladies' salsa team from New Zealand will get to showcase their talent on the world stage, and we are ecstatic!

This event will be live streamed across the globe, so our families, friends and other dancers can be part of the action as we take on this massive challenge. An event of this magnitude will play host to some of the top talent in the world; an amazing opportunity to both show off what New Zealand has to offer and to bring back inspiration to enrich our dance community right here in Aotearoa.

We are a unique team due to the fact our "home base" is Dunedin, but several members live in Christchurch and Wellington and train remotely via video link. We have intensive training weekends together in one location to polish and perfect as often as we can.

It's a long way from sunny Dunedin to Miami, so we're asking for YOU to help us on our history-making journey.

All up, combined with our other fundraising, we will need to raise over $40,000 to fly our team of nine to Miami, for registration and accommodation, to kit our team out in both Vuelta Dance and Team New Zealand uniforms, and in world-class costumes for on stage. Our team is comprised of full-time post-graduate students, health professionals and working mums, so your generous donations will mean that we can instead use our precious spare time to perfect our routines and do New Zealand proud at an New Zealand level.
