CubaDupa 2025 - Valhalla Stage

The Valhalla Stage at CubaDupa is a cornerstone of Wellington's music community, showcasing local and underground talent with a focus on inclusivity and diversity. Aiming to support niche artists, the stage celebrates alternative voices, offering a platform for those often underrepresented in mainstream music. Crowdfunding will allow us to pay artists and crew a living wage, enhance production and improve accessibility and safety measures. Your support helps us continue fostering a vibrant, welcoming space that highlights Aotearoa's creative spirit and cultural richness.
 

The Valhalla Stage is a collaboration between three key players:

• Valhalla: A beloved Wellington venue and cultural hub known for supporting diverse and underground music scenes across all genres.
• Ghost Media: A local organisation deeply embedded in Aotearoa's music scene, promoting alternative artists and fostering community connections.
• Everything Always: A creative collective focused on producing inclusive and innovative events that prioritise accessibility, diversity, and community engagement.

Together, they create a vibrant, inclusive platform for showcasing niche talent and fostering connections within Wellington's music and arts community.
 

We’re raising funds to ensure the Valhalla Stage at CubaDupa is a vibrant, safe, and inclusive space for artists, crew, and the community. Here’s a breakdown of what the money will go towards:

• Artist Payments: Ensuring every artist is fairly compensated, including preparation time.
• Crew Wages: Paying lighting, sound technicians, stage managers, security, and other staff.
• Production Costs: Equipment hire, stage setup, lighting, and sound systems.
• Safety & Accessibility: Security, fencing, toilets and food services.
• Community Support: Poneke Party Guardians (a queer-led initiative to create safer spaces within music events such as clubs and festivals)

The Valhalla Stage at CubaDupa celebrates Wellington’s thriving underground and alternative music community. This project showcases 25 talented artists and collectives across two stages, providing a platform for voices often underrepresented in mainstream music spaces. The lineup reflects diversity in sound, identity, and creativity, from experimental electronic beats to soulful grooves and hard-hitting rap.

This project creates a space for connection and creativity. It emphasises accessibility, inclusion, and community engagement while spotlighting emerging and established artists from Aotearoa.
