The Project

We are building a digital platform that will enable tamariki (children) aged 6 to 14 from across Aotearoa New Zealand to share their original stories, poems, artwork, and craft creations. This crowdfunding campaign will support the design and development of the website, including visual branding, creative content sections, and outreach channels such as social media.

Our total funding goal of $4,000 reflects the professional costs of building a safe, accessible, and engaging space tailored to uplifting young voices. By supporting this project, you are helping to establish a nationwide creative platform that fosters literacy, imagination, and pride in cultural identity. encourages literacy, imagination, and pride in cultural identity.

The Team

This project is led by a small team with experience in children’s education, community arts, and creative project development. Our team includes a children’s educator and arts mentor who works closely with tamariki in creative and literacy-focused environments. We are passionate about encouraging children to express themselves through storytelling and visual art, and we are committed to building an inclusive, accessible space that celebrates young voices from all over Aotearoa.

As part of our development process, we will seek input and informal review from neighbourhood and public libraries, as well as from parents, to help ensure the platform is relevant, accessible, and aligned with community needs.

The Funding

We are raising $4,000 to develop and launch a creative digital platform that will showcase stories, poems, artwork, and craft creations by Tamariki (children) across Aotearoa.
Of this total, $400 (10%) will go to Boosted to cover platform and transaction fees. The remaining $3,600 will directly support the development of the website and its outreach components.

Here’s how the funds will be used:
•    Website design and development
To create a safe, user-friendly, and visually engaging platform tailored for children.
•    Hosting, domain registration, email setup
To professionally host and maintain the website for at least one year.
•    Visual branding and identity
To develop a strong, child-friendly visual theme including logo, colours, and layout.
•    Social media setup and outreach tools
To establish our digital presence, connect with families, and share children’s work online.
•    Admin and travel costs
To support coordination, communication, and local outreach activities during setup.

This initial funding will help us launch the digital space that forms the heart of our long-term project. Future activities such as workshops, competitions, and digital publications will build on this foundation.

We are committed to being transparent and community-driven, and we will keep supporters informed every step of the way.

The Details

We are creating a digital platform that will give Tamariki (children) aged 6 to 14 from across Aotearoa a place to share their original stories, poems, artwork, and craft creations. The aim is to encourage literacy, creativity, and cultural expression in a way that feels welcoming, accessible, and fun for all children, especially those whose voices may not always be represented in mainstream spaces.

This project was born from a desire to support Tamariki in building confidence and pride in their unique perspectives. We believe that every child has a story to tell — through words, images, or imagination — and they deserve a space to be seen and heard.

Through this crowdfunding campaign, we are raising funds to build the platform’s website, visual identity, and outreach tools. The website will become a creative hub where Tamariki can safely showcase their work and connect with a wider audience across Aotearoa. We will also use this phase to establish the foundation for ongoing workshops, partnerships, and collaborative storytelling initiatives in the future.

To ensure that the platform is relevant, inclusive, and responsive to real community needs, we will be seeking feedback from neighbourhood and public libraries, parents, educators, and community organisations as part of the development process.

This is a long-term vision to grow a national platform that nurtures the voices of Tamariki and celebrates their creativity, culture, and connection.

The Impact

Many children across Aotearoa do not often see their own voices, cultures, or creativity reflected in public spaces. This project aims to change that by offering Tamariki (children) a platform where they can be proud of who they are and what they create — whether through stories, poems, drawings, or crafts.

By encouraging children to express themselves and share their work, we are nurturing confidence, strengthening literacy, and building a deeper connection to identity. The platform will also serve as a learning tool and source of inspiration for parents, teachers, and the wider community.

We believe that every child has something unique to say — and that when Tamariki feels heard and valued, entire communities benefit. Children are the future of Aotearoa New Zealand, and by backing this project, you are helping to uplift the next generation of thinkers, storytellers, and creators.
