The Project

Borrowed Time is a 10-minute student short film which follows Boston, a young boy who must learn to overcome his fear and hesitation to make the most out of the last day he has with his best friend Dani before she moves away.

It's a story of compassion, taking control of your story, change, regret and reluctance.

The Team

We are a group of honours year students creating this for our final project. Our team has a passion for telling creative and engaging stories that entertain and resonate emotionally with audiences. We have all been a part of many projects over the years, refining our craft and developing our film-making skills to put forward into our final output projects this year.

The Details

Borrowed Time is a coming-of-age drama that will appeal to audiences of many demographics due to the strong relatability of the story and characters.

We have developed the film to be emotionally and visually strong for audiences to be wrapped into the journey of these characters and leave the film entertained, inspired and ready to take advantage of the opportunities that come their way.

The film is a love letter to the time of childhood innocence and a reflection of the transitional period where you start to lose control over certain aspects of your daily life and how we cope with that.

Through these aspects we believe our film will strike a chord with audiences, getting them to reflect on core memories and the past experience that have shaped who they are now and consider what opportunities they missed out on due to hesitancy to take action.

The Impact

This story is an important reminder to make the most of the moments you have and to take action and risks to fulfil your own happiness.  It's an incredibly relatable story as we have all had moments, we wish we could go back and acted differently or said something we didn't say at the time.

Beyond that, this project goes a long way to inspiring and promoting the future of young artists looking to enter the creative arts industry. As it's our last year, we want to put everything into this project and make it the best it can be, to not only entertain and resonate with audiences, but also to have a piece of work we can proudly use on a showreel to help us in our ventures post-graduation.

Any support would be greatly appreciated and be a great bode of confidence in our team.

Thank you for reading and for any support you may choose to offer. We are incredibly grateful and excited to make this film and share it once it's completed.
