Art for Ukraine: Christchurch
Art for Ukraine: Christchurch is a free public exhibition and CHANGEMAKERx project by artist and engineer Steven Seo, created to help people turn empathy into visible action. Building on Steven’s Wellington pilot, which transformed an empty Lambton Quay retail space into a temporary gallery, the exhibition brings together original canvas paintings and selected award-winning photojournalism, shown with permission, to confront the human impact of the war in Ukraine. With support from Life in Vacant Spaces, the project aims to activate a central Christchurch space through art, storytelling, guided walkthroughs and participatory elements that give visitors a visible way to express support. Funds raised through Boosted will help cover exhibition production, printing, installation, transport, promotion and delivery costs. The project continues its transparent giving model, supporting the Voices of Children Foundation, a Ukrainian charity helping children affected by war.
