Anh Thu 'Anna' Nguyen is a Vietnamese-Kiwi soprano from Tāmaki Makaurau. She holds a Bachelor of Music (Honours) in Classical Voice (First Class Honours) and a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature from the University of Auckland.

She has performed extensively as a chorister and soloist across New Zealand and internationally. From 2023 to 2025, she was a member of the New Zealand Youth Choir, touring Europe and Singapore. The choir was named 'Choir of the World' at the 2025 Llangollen International Music Eisteddfod and won the Folklore Grand Prix of Nations at the World Choir Games in Denmark. She has also sung with the New Zealand Opera Chorus for La bohème, Voices New Zealand Chamber Choir, and as a professional cantor at St Patrick's Cathedral.

As a soloist, Anh Thu was a finalist in the 2025 New Zealand Aria Competition, performing with the Auckland Philharmonia Orchestra. She has appeared with the New Classics Sinfonia, in the First Tuesday Concert Series, and in masterclasses for Pene Pati and Amina Edris. In 2026, she was named a Dame Malvina Major Young Artist with National Youth Opera Aotearoa, making her role debut as the Witch in Hansel and Gretel. She will debut the role of La Contessa in Mozart's Le nozze di Figaro later this year.

Her awards include the Anne Bellam Scholarship, the Ramon Opie and Corrine Bridge Vocal Scholarship, the Evelyn Maud Harrison Scholarship, the Taurus Charitable Trust Postgraduate Scholarship, and the Vinka Marinovich Award in Music.

Anh Thu is especially passionate about continuing to diversifying the operatic community as a queer, neurodivergent performer.
