Wāhine in JAzz
Wāhine in Jazz is a Tāmaki Makaurau based organisation that advocates for and promotes the development of female jazz musicians in Aotearoa. We hope to generate change in the music industry by forming a stronger community of female jazz musicians, by increasing the visibility of women in jazz, and by advocating for fair pay to create sustainable careers for female musicians. We encourage women to form interpersonal relationships and collaborative connections by providing a safe space for musicians to connect and learn from each other. We host monthly jams and workshops with notable female jazz musicians and facilitate gigs.
