SILIGA SANI MULIAUAMSEALII
Kia ora and greetings and Talofa lava,
My name is Siliga Sani Muliaumaseali’i, international operatic tenor, RNZ Concert presenter and a producer of opera, theatre and concerts. I also write and direct and compose. I have been singing for most of my life in a career spanning four decades and across different time zones. I spent 20 years in London creating and I am the progenitor of the city’s first Samoan arts group The GAFA arts collective. (2012) In my 10 years as creative producer and director I helped bring works of Pasefika sensibility across all art genres to the UK & Europe. In doing so creating opportunities and stepping stones for several Pacific artists on their to or resident in that big smoke to shine. Many of whom have gone on to do fine things in the world of entertainment. This makes me very proud.
I am a Samoa born and raised in Aotearoa NZ. Siliga is my Matai (chief) name from Vaimea in Samoa. I have ties in Vaiala, Fasito’outa,Vaimea and Pu’apu’a. I also have family ties in Tonga, through my maternal Grandmother Tofaeono Faautu to my aiga Fotofili Kalaniuvalu.
I created 3S Presents to reflect my lineage and my Art. The three S’s represent who I am and who my art is. My Matai title Siliga is the first S: I ‘become the ancestor’ whose title I carry, Sani the second S, represents my immediate family and the last one is my ancestral, spiritual and cultural home Samoa. 3S Presents is putting myself/art out there.
The courage to be me. The courage to Art.
The world view of 3S Presents will be visible across the arts to
Artfully express Life.
