Kararaina is a Tūhoe/Te Arawa writer, director and actress and the youngest daughter of John Te Rangiāniwaniwa Rangihau. Her creative work is deeply reflective of her dedication to continuing Tūhoe traditions and knowledge; te reo Māori and tikanga revitalisation. Kararaina continues her father's work, empowering her people to be self governing and self sustaining, breaking through their reliance on the system. Her work has been screened both locally and internationally to critical acclaim.
