Pea Sea Art
Kia ora, we are: Dallas Henley & Robert Scott. We run an art gallery in Port Chalmers that we opened in December 2018. Until lock down happened, we'd been hosting monthly exhibitions of emerging artists and well-established known artists. In our first year, we'd shown about 50 artists' work in our space, many local artists as well as some from elsewhere in New Zealand. We are both artists (well, one of us is and the other is trying to be) and working musicians (again, one of us is and one is trying).
The gallery is one space that's divided into two areas; one area used for exhibits and, the other is filled with art supplies (paper, paints, clay, inks, tools, canvas etc.). We also stock a range of NZ made (mostly local) crafts, jewellery, books and the like, as well as a small selection of NZ music (vinyl, cds, the occasional cassette). We love our little community and are very appreciative of their support. The feedback we get from many of them is, that they're glad we're doing what we do.
