Our high energy, small venue at 24 Banks St has been home to many epic gigs with acts like Head Like A Hole, The Schizophonics, The D4, Ladi6, Temtris, Jordan Luck Band, Paua and Lost Tribe Aotearoa, and festivals like Smashfest, all creating special memories - for us and our loyal audiences.
We’re fierce champions of local music with Lazy Fifty, Sit Down In Front, Uni-Fi and a tonne of other local artists regularly taking the stage.

Friday nights are a regular live music must-do as Gizzy's finest musos and visitors from around the world get together for Build-A-Band - jamming up a storm. And we throw
When it’s warm, we use the iconic outdoor stage beneath the wings of our vintage DC3 plane. Otherwise the indoor stage at Smash Palace is pumping every Saturday night with local, national and international acts !

Arts in the MediaJoshua Prendeville: Building an Audience on Boosted
Accomplished Filmmaker Joshua Prendeville first came to Boosted in order to help with funding his 2024 Film 'The House Within,' documenting the life and work of 2026 Katherine Mansfield Menton Fellow Dame Fiona Kidman. Since then he has gone on to direct an adaptation of Katherine Mansfield's 'The Garden Party,' that was also funded in part through Boosted. His latest project is 'Earthly Shadows,' a short film adaptation of the award-winning story by Fiona Kidman. For Joshua, Boosted has become a more than just a funding avenue, it's a way to bring his audience onboard at the start of a film's journey and bring that crowd along with him. Joshua was kind enough to share with us his experiences and lessons learned from growing his audience on Boosted, and how he aims to bring them on a journey with his latest project, 'Earthly Shadows.'18 May 2026
