Diversity is a word that best describes our always weird, surprisingly homely and ever extravagant space. A brief sojourn down Vulcan Lane in Auckland's Central City will soon bring you to No. 9, up an enigmatic flight of stairs a world renowned music venue, club and eatery awaits you - a home to countless legends, stars, curiosities, oddities and tall tales of decadent debauchery over the years. Today it stands amongst the elder buildings of the old town in Auckland, laced with foliage and flowers, offering the weary traveller a welcoming smile, a cosy seat, a multitude of refreshments and has become a preferred palace of perennial partying.
We can and have been known to provide comforting cuddles by evening, serving you with a tummy warming pub style menu and snacks best accompanied by a juice from our extensive liquor cabinet. Cassette becomes a visual and aural feast by night, with a varied bunch of fun individuals enjoying a smash up of entertainment - Local and international bands and dj’s can drop in any day of the week with nights like Higher Ground messing with your mid-week (in a loving way) every Wednesday or Madcap, Wuk It Up and Lost Vegas taking you on strolls down all the good musical avenues. There will always be something to make you feel good, we even have Bingo of the b*t#h1n kind, proudly established @ Cassette Nine.
Cassette is certainly a space with many faces. Like other High Street and Vulcan Lane locals, Cassette Nine hopes to embrace art, mischief, music, difference, drama and eccentric characters from all over the world… and perhaps even further into the metaphysical infinity of the multiverse and its uncharted dimensional planes…

Arts in the MediaJoshua Prendeville: Building an Audience on Boosted
Accomplished Filmmaker Joshua Prendeville first came to Boosted in order to help with funding his 2024 Film 'The House Within,' documenting the life and work of 2026 Katherine Mansfield Menton Fellow Dame Fiona Kidman. Since then he has gone on to direct an adaptation of Katherine Mansfield's 'The Garden Party,' that was also funded in part through Boosted. His latest project is 'Earthly Shadows,' a short film adaptation of the award-winning story by Fiona Kidman. For Joshua, Boosted has become a more than just a funding avenue, it's a way to bring his audience onboard at the start of a film's journey and bring that crowd along with him. Joshua was kind enough to share with us his experiences and lessons learned from growing his audience on Boosted, and how he aims to bring them on a journey with his latest project, 'Earthly Shadows.'18 May 2026 -
