Katie is an award-winning actor, theatremaker and director from Aotearoa with a Bachelor of Performing and Screen Arts (Unitec, Acting, ‘09). Katie is the director of Ratbags Theatre and award-winning theatre work How to Art, which has presented four seasons in the past year across Auckland, Wellington and Melbourne, and will tour to the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in 2026. 

As an actor, Katie has performed with notable theatre companies in NZ and abroad, including NZ Opera, CDP Theatre Producers (AUS), Co Theatre Physical, Auckland Theatre Company, Tim Bray Productions, White Face Crew, and Proudly Asian Theatre. Recent performance credits include Let it Die (Basement Theatre), Bluebeard's Castle (Town Hall, Auckland Arts Festival), and Olivier Award-nominated Room on the Broom (Australian capital cities tour). 

Katie is an eclectic theatremaker, drawing from her background in clown, dance and physical theatre to collaborate on unique hybrid works. She has completed arts residencies with Studio One Toi Tū, Capital E, Red Leap, Wellesley Studios and TAPAC, and her theatremaking credits include: How to Art (Melbourne Fringe, Basement Theatre, NZ Fringe), GET OUT OF MY LETTERBOX (Q Theatre), Afakasi (Basement Theatre High Schools tour), Wheel Head (Q Theatre), Royal Jelly (Hawkes Bay Arts Festival) and One by One (Herald Theatre). 

Katie's recent directing works include HR the Musical (Q Theatre, Adelaide Fringe), Access (winner of NZ Fringe 'Tour Ready Award’ 2022), and B425 Playmarket Award-nominated Paradise Island (Basement Theatre).

A key member of Co Theatre Physical, Katie regularly tours shows for diverse audiences in NZ, including Wild Feelings and Monarch–both winners of the Playmarket ‘Plays for the Young Award’ (Dir. Beth Kayes). With COTP, Katie is often found roaming the streets of Auckland as a giant Road Cone.
