bad apple is a queer, community-focused publication project dedicated to Aotearoa’s marginalised communities. Our goal is to provide a platform for those who have been disenfranchised by the inadequacies of our society, and resources to help organise and reclaim our agency.

bad apple is run entirely through koha; no one but our readers profit from our work and we aim to be transparent about our practices and welcome individuals to read our freely accessible public documents.

bad apple aims to honour Te Tiriti o Waitangi and te ao Māori in the ways that we operate and the things that we publish. We reject organisations committed to preserving Aotearoa’s colonial hegemonies, including the police and corrections.

bad apple is the collaborative passion project of Aotearoa’s queer communities from all over the motu. Most of us don’t have formal training and work regular day jobs, but we somehow managed to make it happen thanks to the koha and mahi of our contributors.
