I am Kate Hursthouse, a New Zealand artist and mother based in Te Atatū Peninsula, Auckland. My vibrant abstract artworks push the limits with colourful layers of ink, pattern and bold graphic marks. They reflect the feelings and emotions that live within me, acknowledging that beauty can always be found amongst the chaos, even in the smallest of things. My art has become my place of calm and joy and my passion is helping other women find their own inner joy and calm through colour and creativity.

I have been running my design and illustration business since 2014, my work has taken on a number of forms over the years from contemporary artworks and commercial illustrations to an illustrated children’s book and large scale hand-painted murals. But it wasn’t until the pandemic arrived that I began pursuing abstract art, the colours and patterns just started spilling out of me and I have since released 4 collections.
