Help Esther study at Mountview

Hi, I’m Esther, 

I’m taking a year away from my full-time job at the SPCA to study Musical Theatre at Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts, based in the UK.  Mountview is a drama school with an international reputation for excellence and I'm super proud to have secured a place there. I love to perform and love the joy that musicals bring. There is nothing in the world like the excitement of live theatre performances. I’ve been saving for the last 12 months but the money I’ve saved doesn't cover all of the course fees and as an international student I don’t qualify for a student loan.  

My family are covering my living expenses while I'm in the UK,  but I really need a little extra help from the Boosted Community, friends, neighbours, Theatre communities & anyone who’d like to help my cover the course costs. I've been a member of Nelson Youth Theatre since 2023 and more recently the Nelson Musical Theatre too, in their production of 'Heathers'.  All of the team in both companies, (backstage crew, musical director, stage managers etc.) offer their time voluntarily to help bring the show together.  They create an environment where we all support each other - it's just like a home away from home.  I've learnt so much and I'm ready to see where further studies take me.

Total Costs £19,065

Total I’ve saved to date $15,090 (currently £6657 on today’s exchange rate) but that’s going up since I’m still working full time until July 2025. 

Getting into Mountview is a opportunity that is too good to miss!  I know I'll miss the team and the animals at the SPCA while I'm away but I feel that I'd regret it if I don't see where this opportunity could lead me.

I love to see the joy that Musical Theatre brings the audience and the cast.  To be in a performance at the Civic Centre of St. James's Theatre would be so fun.
