When wealthy businessman Gordon Harrington finds out that the lover of his cheating wife is in fact one of his own employees, he devises an elaborate scheme to destroy them both. However, the deceit and betrayal of all parties becomes unmasked as this plan is put into motion and in the end, there is no innocent party.
‘Double Crossed’ is a classic suspense thriller set in the 1950s. It is written entirely with its audience in mind, carefully manipulating information to be either given or withheld from the viewer, resulting in an enticing film that has the audience gripped in suspense. Involving aspects of revenge, greed, romance, murder, redemption and retribution, this film will keep audiences on the edge of their seat and continuously guessing at the character's next move.

The Funding
With your generous contributions we will be able to:
PAY OUR ACTORS:
We would love to pay our actors a fair and reasonable rate for their hard work and dedication to bringing this film to life!
FUND OUR ART DEPARTMENT:
Because this is a period film set in the 1950's we need to source vintage props and set dressings, as well as accurate costumes, hair, and makeup. We would also use the funds to pay for some of the amazing locations we have lined up!
RENT GEAR:
We are needing some audio gear so we would put some of the funds towards renting gear for our shoot!
FEED OUR CAST AND CREW:
We would love to feed everyone on set every day to keep everyone energized and happy!
TRANSPORT CAST AND CREW:
We will need transport to safely and swiftly bring cast and crew to and from set, as well as transporting all the gear we will need for the day.
EVERY DOLLAR COUNTS!
We greatly appreciate any and all donations to our project, no matter how big or small! It goes a long way in helping us make the best film we can (and having fun while doing it)!
We will be updating on our social media account, as well as through email if any of you would like to receive regular updates!
The Details
“Double Crossed” incorporates the idea of ‘pure cinema’ where visual storytelling is prioritised, something that is particularly important in the noir genre. We are hoping to create a traditional noir film that honours the films made during the 1940s and ‘50s through its unique conventions and visual elements. We would love the opportunity to build on the experience we gained while studying and taking on a beloved genre such as film-noir would be a great challenge for us.
As recent film school graduates we are eager to continue our creative journey and are passionate about creating engaging and entertaining stories through visually interesting pictures.
We have begun pre-production preparations by scouting locations and finding an amazing cast to take on our three leads, Richard, Sarah, and Gordon. We are hoping to begin production in late January through to early February, before heading into post-production in late February. Our goal is to have the film ready to submit to festivals in late June.
The Impact
As lovers of not only the art of film and television, but the entertainment, enjoyment and escapism it provides, we aim to create a film that is not only visually impressive but also provides a thrilling watching experience. We would love to nurture an appreciation in the traditional film-noir genre in newer audiences by creating an entertaining, watchable and accessible film. We hope to cultivate a new audience for these films and show audiences that ‘old’ films can be just as engaging, exciting and compelling as films produced today.
