Hi! I'm Amalia, I act, I write, and I'm just dipping my toes into producing and directing.
I'm a graduate of the University of Auckland Screen Production programme and an actor with a varied portfolio of theatre and tv roles from the last 7 years. I'm now living in Queenstown and after a successful first foray into the local short film scene with this year's 48 Hour Film Festival, I'm producing, co-directing, and acting in my next ambitious short film project I Used to be the Pretty One with an incredible crew of local professionals.
I have a deep passion for sensitive, realistic and entertaining storytelling and a hugely valuable understanding of the craft from student films to international tv productions and from both sides of the camera.
To me, the feeling of a film set is unlike anything, it's where I feel most alive and more sure of what I want to do with my life, but as we all know in New Zealand, being lucky enough to work on a project is a rare occurrence- so the best thing you can do is make your own stuff!
Thanks for checking out my profile and supporting my next project I Used to be the Pretty One!

Planning your content
A crowdfunding campaign needs a ton of content. For the 30 or so days of funding, you’ll be coaxing, cajoling and flirting with your crowd, asking for money, and you’ve got to come up with a fresh way to ask every day. You’ve got to keep it interesting, enticing and exciting.31 Aug 2024
