N.Z. designer at No.10 Downing Street — 13.05.10

"It's manic here!" says fashion-designer Emilia Wickstead, whose design has been worn by Samantha Cameron as she and her husband take up residence at No.10 Downing Street, London.

New Zealand fashion designer, Emilia Wickstead, has made it to No.10 Downing Street - well her garments have!   Emilia has designed a wardrobe for Samantha Cameron, the wife of David Cameron who is the new British Prime Minster. The garment worn by Samantha as she and her husband entered No. 10 Downing Street for the first time is a Wickstead design.

Emilia told the Arts Foundation that she is excited that her garments are in the public eye and said that "it is manic here!"

Emilia was a recipient of a $10,000 donation from the Arts Foundation and patrons Gus and Irene Fisher. Gus and Irene selected Emilia for the honour along with four other artists to celebrate the Fishers' announcement as the recipients of the Arts Foundation Award for Patronage, which is sponsored by Forsyth Barr.

Mrs Cameron was recently voted the Best-Dressed Woman in Politics.
