Fisher donates look books to Christian Dior. — 04.09.13

The Trustees of the estate of the late couture fashion leader Gus Fisher has gifted dozens of catalogue "look books" dating back to the 1950s to Christian Dior in Paris.

The Trustees of the estate couture fashion leader Gus Fisher (who along with his wife Irene, received an Arts Foundation Award for Patronage in 2010), have gifted dozens of catalogue "look books" dating back to the 1950s to Christian Dior, one of the world's top fashion houses, Paris.

Gus Fisher is credited with bringing Parisian fashion to New Zealand as the head of fashion house El Jay, in Auckland, for more than 50 years. Gus was the New Zealand licensee for French fashion designer Christian Dior and and manufactured thousandsof  garments under licence from 1954, until El Jay closed its doors in 1988.
