Designer Maker Hui: How to describe your items

Date:
Monday, 23 September 2019
Time:
7:00 pm — 9:00 pm
Location:
Exchange Christchurch
376 Wilsons Rd, Waltham, Christchurch 8011
Price:
$15-$35

An evening workshop and discussion for designers, makers, and other creatives in Christchurch.

The art of describing your creative pieces is a challenge for many of us. When selling your work online or face-to-face it is important to be able to tell a compelling and authentic story. It is often this story that shows why your items are so valuable, and leads to a sale.

This practical workshop will step through the main building blocks of an excellent item description, and you will walk away having written at least one.

Bring an item with you, your laptop/tablet/phone or paper and pen, and a willingness to let your guard down and talk about your work with pride.

Lovingly co-hosted by Encraftment Market, Pay it Forward, Arts Centre Mākete, Felt, and XCHC.

This is Arts New Zealand Month, and XCHC is showing its support to the creative industries by not charging us for the venue. Instead, they’re asking you become a member of their Patreon channel. 1 by 1, we can join in supporting a space that has been supporting the community for over 5 years.
