Oscar Kightley, 2006 Arts Foundation Te Tumu Toi Laureate
Actor, Writer, Director, Comedian
1. He co-wrote and acted in the hit Pasifika comedy Sione's Wedding, which was released in 2006 and still sits in the top 10 NZ films for local box office and was considered a breakthrough for Pasifika characters on screen.
2. He is the cousin of another Arts Foundation awarded artist sitting around your table....and they have collaborated on many works, including a music video and a documentary series.
3. Last year, he was named the 2023 TV legend by the New Zealand Television Awards.
