Edith Amituanai speaks of her Walters Award exhibition

The NZ Listener's art critic says:

"Amituanai is the Walters surprise. Many have not heard of her, but she is a deserving finalist. Her photographs of rugby players based in France, and their families' living rooms back in New Zealand, are exceptional: still and unassuming. The works of the other finalists involve moving images or require that the spectator move in order to take them all in. Amituanai is not trying so hard to make art. As a result, her work is less spectacular, but more absorbing."
