Neil Ieremia and Black Grace tour the USA

Neil Ieremia (Laureate), and the dance troupe Black Grace, is returning to the United States by popular demand following their successful 2008 tour. The repertoire includes; Minoi, a signature work based on the fusion of Samoan and western contemporary dance styles; excerpts from Surface, a full-length piece based on traditional Samoan tattooing, and excerpts from Gathering Clouds, Ieremia's latest full-length work.

This nearly two month long tour started with a oversold performance in Hawaii and directly after the performance it was announced by Michael Pili Pang, Director of the Mayors Office of Cultureand Arts, on behalf of the Mayor of the City and County of Honolulu, that the 6th February 2010 is officially 'Black Grace Day!'  Neil and the Company were presented with the proclamation on stage.
