A key figure in the emergence and evolution of New Zealand abstract art, Don Peebles was known as a leading force in contemporary New Zealand painting and is one of New Zealand's most senior and respected practitioners.
Michael Smither and Don Binney are amongst the group of artists whose work will feature in an exhibition at the New Zealand Academy of Fine Arts - showcasing the passion, energy and political creativity of some of New Zealand's most celebrated artists.
