Boy - trailer

2010
This is director Taika Waititi's second feature film (after Eagle vs. Shark and episodes of TV's Flight of the Conchords). It's a semi-autobiographical look at his own growing up in Waihau Bay in western Bay of Plenty, New Zealand. Set in the 1980's, Boy is a coming-of-age story about two Maori brothers, Boy and Rocky, who are trying to find their potential whilst living in the shadow of their larger-than-life father Alamein, played by Waititi himself.
