What the Digital Allows: Two Recent Films from Florian Habicht

2006

By Jo Smith - from ILLUSIONS Magazine Number 36 Winter 2006

In this article Jo Smith discusses Florian Habicht's work in relation to international developments in digital film making.

'Woodenhead (2003) - a multimedia affair that echoes the vaudeville roots of cinema even as it utilises the ostensibly “new” technologies of digital cameras and DVD formatting and Kaikohe Demolition (2004), a film that depicts a different kind of community than that of Woodenhead’s world while still maintaining a recognisable “Habicht” vision.'
