About donating

Since our inception we have received over $1 million in donations from people wanting to support artists. But this just the beginning. If we want to give the arts a serious boost, then we need to come together to do it.

The Arts Foundation makes it easy to give to our finest artists, whether your donation is a little or a lot. You can pitch in a make a one off donation on this website. You can also join us and become a member (called a Patron). If you have a big idea, such as making a donation to start a new award or project, then talk to us.

All donations are acknowledged and a receipt issued on payment. GST is not payable on donations. Receipts can be used to gain tax relief. Most donations qualify for a 33% tax rebate up to the annual net income of the donor; visit the IRD website for more information. Donations are not refundable.

When you become a donor to the Foundation we like to let everybody know, it helps us promote giving. However, if you'd rather be anonymous, that's ok too. Donors receive our publications, email news and are invited to events when capacity allows. It is important to us that you know your donation is being used effectively.

The door is always open at the Foundation, we like getting questions about donating to the arts. However, if you have decided to make a donation , thanks very much, we look forward to hearing from you soon.
